So after a morning of air conditioning installing and mario kart playing and roommate's girl upsetting resulting in High Fidelity watching, it's 4pm. I've been trying to wrestle with the concept of changing attitude. It is probably common knowledge that your given attitude and general feeling results in what you say and what you do since we're more emotional than rational whatever we may think (or feel, ha). One of my new goals in life is to figure out how to control emotion. When people say that, in general they are meaning to suppress it and think in a logical manner. The way I want to control it is that at any given moment, I want to be able to propel myself into the mood I desire. I guess first off you need to figure out what causes your mind to be put in the emotional state that it's in at any given time. For example, this morning the sun was shining and as I got out of bed I saw all this shit all around my apartment and it was hot. I drove my madame to work and listened to Click and Clack on NPR and then (again) dancy music.
Black Ghosts - Let's Get Physical to be specific (again).
All of a sudden, I didn't want to clean anymore but rather I just wanted to look for new music since, shit, I've been listening to that song for at least 6 months. Well, I downloaded a couple of songs through trashmenagerie.com and after trotting through myspace. Nothing worth re-posting here though. Then I came upon the fact that Acid Girls is coming into town (according to their myspace) a la Trash Menagerie and I couldn't find anything regarding that on the blog. Well, I started to wonder why not? Why can't I know? Why don't I know anyone that, at minimum, would be decently qualified that I can ask? Looking back on that, that was rather silly, but that's not the point I'm trying to make. I don't know yet what the solution is, seeing as I have been just thinking about this for a week and other people probably do psychiatric dissertations on the subject, but I do know that on mushrooms that I could control my feelings very well; running around with your arms outstretched pretending to be an airplane, then with news of the cops, instantly becoming sober for the time being, but out of breath. Just think what you could achieve if you actually could control it!
Time for ribs.

I'm feeling... disappointed
Have you ever watched one of your favorite 80's cartoons or movies only to realize that it's not the way you remembered it; perhaps you finally realize that the show that you thought was so cool is actually really lame? I can't think of an example right now other than Tail Spin or Rescue Rangers, however musically I just discovered one this morning.
My guy Alexander Robotnik has an awesome album called "Oh No... Robotnik" which is how I came to discover him. He's had a big influence on the electro-Italo music scene and is a really good DJ if you ever get a chance to see him; Israeli Dan (and Adrian?) and I saw him at Rednofive a couple of years back and I even saw him at a warehouse party near my house where my pal Adam ended up talking the good talk with the cops while I slithered past unscathed. Massive speakers, his head bobbing up and down furiously while people where getting sweaty (you didn't really have to dance to get wet, it was hot enough if you weren't by a fan). That was an interesting time. His top song back in the 80's was
Alexander Robotnik - Problemes D'Amour
It is in French, but the guy is Italian. He also put out a year or so ago what he calls History which is basically a chronological mix of a lot of good house hits over the years. I played it at my old occupation once when I was working late and this supervisor guy (not mine) who used to be in the scene walked in on me playing this music and started dancing in the office at 7pm. "Oh man... THIS song!" I hardly know any of the tracks, but it's pretty good:

Which brings us to the present. I'm Maurizio Dami's friend on myspace (his real name) and he put out a new video doing some old-style electro stuff. I was fairly excited to see it... until I actually saw it. Just watching the guy do the vocals and the dancing, one can't help but laugh and dismiss his efforts. It just makes me want to hang my head. Watch it if you dare.

I discovered Yelle that way and she reminded me of a French, up-to-date, and more dancy Annie. I recommend Chewing Gum for the babes to listen to. Don't get too cocky, though. (link later...)
-> Bloody Beetroots <- Honestly I don't know too much about these guys other than they do the whole mask thing that Daft Punk, Mstrkrft, The Knife (live), etc. do. I don't know how I feel about that. However, they are pretty good in the remix business. Listen to the audioporno mix on their myspace and then elbow the crap out of them.
-> Miami Horror <- I'm pretty sure he is the big dude from Gameboy/Gamegirl I talked about a couple of posts ago (man I am soooo established on the SCENE. I am so scene. I heard people that say that they are so scene are not scene. I am so not scene. There, that's better.)
-> Egyptian Lover <- I really wanted to just post his picture up. He's good to listen to too.
There's not that much to write here seeing as I can't really give the backgrounds on most these people other than the fact that you should check them. In the meantime, wait for this to come out:
My approach to writing the stuff that I do here is that I am communicating mostly to my pals who don't know much about this stuff. If you're a Mr. Fancy Pants constantly looking at the ceiling and think that Daft Punk Technologic should never be played in a mix ever again (which is kind of true), then you can do the just visiting on this blogopoly board.
